How to comply with the new GDPR regulation?

Since 25 May 2018, the new European Privacy Regulation has been fully operational, which entered into force on 24 May 2016. The regulation, also called GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) has assumed, a year and a half ago, immediate law value for all member states of the European Union (EU), without the need for any law of transposition, effectively repealing European Directive 95/46/EC.

With the advent of the GDPR, companies must address, in a new and appropriate way, the issue of “compliance” (compliance) with Privacy; particular attention must be paid by companies that also operate on the European market by exporting data outside Italy or outside the EU.

Company owners will then have to review and update what has already been done in the company, apply appropriate security measures, both technological and organizational, and, finally, prove its effectiveness, reaching the so-called “accountability” or corporate responsibility.

It’s an extremely important argument, even for the new and powerful sanctioning system, which provides for sanctions up to the new levels of 20 or 40 million euros – or up to 4% of global turnover.
